Minxy’s Daily Makeup Routine!
One of the most important ingredients to a flawless makeup is doing it in natural light! Always have your makeup station near a window. Minxy’s does hers informally while sitting on her bed, products laid out on a towel and facing a large window!
The less foundation the better… why pile on a flesh coloured coat of product to your already beautiful skin? Spot concealing is always best.
Blending is the key to flawless and polished makeup. You don’t want the makeup to sit ON the skin, but rather melt into it.
1) Start by applying Bare Minerals foundation on your face, jawline, and neck with a Kabuki brush. (Minxy omits this step if she has a nice tan going on in the summer).
2) Using your ring finger, apply Benefit’s “Erase Paste” under your eyes and on the browbone to correct any discoloration (this product is absolutely amazing, and does exactly what an undereye concealer should without settling into fine lines or looking fake). Set this with Bare Minerals Mineral Veil, making sure to brush over eyelids to prime them for eyeliner.
3) Apply Prescriptives Sunsheen bronzer in Medium to the highest points of the face with a large, flat brush and blend in well.
4) Pat on Benefit’s Velvet Eyeshadow in “Bikini Line” on the inner corners of the eye with a dome tipped fluffy brush. Smooth the browbone with the eyeshadow as well, adding a subtle glow. Make sure you blend well.
5) Smudge either Benefit’s “Bad Gal” or M.A.C’s “Prunella” or “Teddy” into the lashline, with a smudge brush making sure to blend upwards and outwards, extending slightly beyond the outer corner of the eye.
6) Apply one coat of DiorShow mascara to curled lashes. Recurl lashes once your mascara has dried.
7) Fill in your brows with Bare Minerals brow powder using a stiff angle brush, making sure to use short and straight strokes.
8) Sweep M.A.C’s “Dollymix” blush into the apples of the cheeks (smile to find those apples) with a small, yet fluffy blush brush. Add as much as you need, Minxy LOVES her blush! Blend slightly onto the upper cheekbones.
9) Give yourself a few strokes of Sephora’s Ultra Shine Lipgloss (Minxy favours #20 Beige) and if you want to really sparkle, top that with your favorite clear gloss.
Finish with an all over face light dusting of Bare Minerals Mineral Veil using a large fluffy brush, and you’ve never been more gorge!
