REVIEW: Lash Blast vs. Dior Show

Cheap vs. Charge It! Can Cover Girl’s Lash Blast take on the much coveted Dior Show? Dior’s mascara has been top rated by makeup artists for years, but is it really worth the $30 when compared against Cover Girls Lash Blast, ringing in at 1/3 of the price?

Brush:

CG: Odd looking, plastic, short but densely packed bristles.

D: Gorgeous full and long densely packed bristles.

Application:

CG: Smooth, no clumps and the flat top of the brush doesn’t collect product, which makes doing your bottom lashes less clumpy and cumbersome. The short bristles don’t feel like they will do a good job, but the end result proves differently!

D: Smooth, and clump free, but the applicator can get so full of product that you can apply way too much mascara on the first go. Love the ‘teddybear’ type brush because you feel like it’s really getting all sides of each eyelash.

Result:

CG: Longer, separated, and clump free lashes, even after two coats!

D: Longer, separated and clump free lashes, even after two coats!

Other:

CG: This mascara was way better than we first thought it would be. One point of mention is that the applicator handle is short, and fat, which inhibits application a little bit. We would also like to see the bristles being a little longer, and slightly more densely packed. 9/10

D: This applicator is just gorgeous but one of the MAIN downsides of this mascara is the flaking. This shouldn’t happen with a pricey mascara! For this reason, it gets an 8/10.

As quoted by a friend:

“I like it, a lot, but I prefer Dior Show, the formula is OK.

I don’t really like the plastic brush and the shorter bristles; I don’t think they reach my lashes as well as a regular brush”

And another:

“Lash Blast is on par with Dior Show, and for the price, it’s obvious which one to go with. Plus, Lash Blast doesn’t flake!”

Minxy’s final thoughts:

Even though we love the luxury of Dior Show, it isn’t worth the money when you can get one that produces the same result for 1/3 of the price!
